Dr Carys Watts (SFHEA) is a teaching and scholarship academic specialising in enterprise and biosciences at Newcastle University UK. She has developed numerous teaching initiatives to develop the student experience, including overseas study and exchanges, co-creation with bioscience, music and art, virtual exchanges, an embedding SDG’s toolkit, and development of enterprise challenge opportunities. She works with global institutions for student mobility and with alumni and industry partners to develop experiential learning and graduate employability. Her progressive coaching approach to building resilience by providing opportunities where failure is a learning opportunity, won her the HE Bioscience Teacher of the Year Award 2024.
