Welcome to Dundee

2024 SABE/IAREP Conference

The 48th SABE/IAREP joint conference will take place at the Dalhousie Building, University of Dundee, Scotland, August 19-22, 2024.

The annual conference of SABE/IAREP attracts academics, policy makers, and practitioners from psychology, economics, business administration, marketing, consumer behaviour and related fields. During the conference, the General Assembly also takes place.

As always, we welcome submissions on all topics that relate to behavioural economics and economic psychology.

This year we have a focus on celebrating and welcoming the plurality of robust methodologies within and across disciplines amongst behavioural economists and economic psychologists:

  • There are different ways of doing experiments, both classroom and field;
  • Different theoretical approaches to explaining outcomes, which encompass economic and psychological variables, but also sociological, cultural, and institutional factors, for example;
  • Different ways of articulating one’s narrative robustly, which can involve no math to a lot;
  • Different toolboxes employed, from bounded rationality to heuristics and biases;
  • Different approaches to correcting for market failure and errors in decision-making from institutional adjustments, price and income related policy, to different forms of nudging.

We’re all about better explaining the broader economic world that is rooted in how real people behave in the real world, which is very much in the Herbert Simon tradition.

Sponsored by the School of Business, University of Dundee
